Coach, trainer, author, and former business owner — with a career built entirely around helping people-led organisations perform at their best.
My career has taken me deep inside three of Australia's most demanding healthcare professions — veterinary, dental, and diagnostic imaging. In every one of them, I saw the same pattern playing out.
Exceptionally skilled clinicians, promoted or propelled into practice ownership and leadership, suddenly responsible for teams, culture, finances, and business growth, with no training in any of it. Doing their best with the wrong tools.
I've worked alongside these practice owners through the full complexity of what that role actually involves: the staff conflicts, the profitability pressure, the patient management challenges, the exhaustion of being the person everyone looks to for every decision. I understand the terrain because I've spent years in it, not just studying it from the outside.
I've also built and sold my own businesses, so when we talk about growth, risk, structure, and the realities of ownership, I'm drawing on personal experience, not theory.
That combination of deep healthcare sector knowledge, real business ownership experience, and 15+ years in Learning & Development is what I bring to every client engagement.
Healthcare professionals carry an extraordinary weight. The responsibility for patients, for teams, for livelihoods and often with very little support for themselves. Australia's healthcare professions face some of the highest rates of burnout, stress, and mental health challenges of any workforce. The isolation of practice ownership makes that harder still.
I'm acutely aware of this. Building a practice that works better isn't just a business goal. For many of the people I work with, it's a wellbeing goal too. It's the difference between a career that sustains them and one that quietly consumes them.
